Hard disagree with conclusion. But agree with most individual facts. What happened to DS1 level storytelling!! This dlc felt so random. No closure on any of the base game mysteries like gloameyed, Melina etc. also the fact that levels are irrelevant and by end of every dungeon you have 7 digit souls. Like what to do with all this. Playing my 2nd character and already feeling like i should use guides to get scadus fragments and what not. But other than that world exploration was a blast! So i would also rate the dlc 8/10 but i would say BUY NOW its amazing but has some irritating things

Another change from Hard to Unfair is the Enemies go from "Slightly Stronger" to "Moderately Stronger" in the Stat Adjustment option.

If you still have open builds for your companions i would love to see you try the new druid archetype winter child. this is my build suggestion (rough) 16 levels of winterchild for the maxed out companion 3 levels of winter witch for the +1 spelllevel and +1 dc for frost spells 1 level of sorcerer for the 2 cold bloodlines the build is in my run powerful for CC, blaster casting and surprisingly powerful summons (ofc in unfair difficulty they dont do shit but other conjuration spells are absolute monstrous) happy to see another unfair run :D ps i agree unfair is the toughest beginning ever, but i made it with a sorcerer (martial weapon prof) melee... so if you are not streaming or not cutting out the quickloads whenever you dont crit, its absolutely duable :D for the sake of a stream, i would say the new mariner ranger is insane.. this bird is crazy strong lich? well eldritch knight lich? instant lichspells on crit or just a casual intensified lvl 30 harm XD

Thinking more of the DLC, so much of the DNA is an improvement, I'm still really enjoying it so far. It's all because that World and level design being emblematic of what I actually want in a wandering epic fantasy action RPG, harkening to my original time exploring Lordran. That is what they've done very well with recapturing. There's hope if they continue THIS again more in the future. Level/world has always been the most sublime element of the Dark Souls package.| also I disagree overall

I completely agree with your thoughts on the Staleness of the genre, Soulslikes are easily one of if not my favorite genre, and even i was feeling the staleness like you were, 95% of the fighting is just looking for that tiny window to hit your one button you've chosen as your damage button, either R1 R2 or L2 and it's starting to feel a bit archaic. Id disagree with your closing comment about this DLC not being worth it though, it's 1000% worth the asking price. I also disagree with you on graphics, I've never taken so many screen shots of a video game EVER as i did playing through this DLC, its absolutely breath-taking and i think their engine is fine, the gameplay does need spicing up though.

I can't wait for this run!

Amazing review, not biased at all, Werg is probably the only content creator on youtube who isn't afraid to say that FROMSOFTWARE must innovate with their next title and it better be good! I was sick of the genre after DS3. I used to play tons of soulslikes, but you are right, its pretty stale at this time. My fvorite is still The Surge becasue it least it told a coherent story within a coll world. To each their own but they have reached Nintendo level of nothing they will ever do will receive any actual crituqes except from real players. Great review.

I love the DLC, my main complaint however is i do not like the verticality of the map, and would get lost constantly. I would have to track back thru zones you only need to really go thru once, but i missed some dumb small turn that opened up to 3 new areas.

Using a summon? Really? Was it too hard to win the fight honestly?

Asmon number 2 using same weapon from one hour into game and complaining about new stuff while praising god of war where you throw axe whole game and using same blade of chaos weapon you did 20 years ago,very innovative .. Elden ring is like 20 years ahead of god of war..Only better is graphics ,one boss is good and thats Baldur and maybe two brothers..Not a single cutscene for bosses or anything,then he complains not worth 40 bucks while other companies ask 70 for 3 times less content,game has 42 new bosses are you insane not a single one is re skined..From all game they made they have like 5000 moves ,who can come out with new ones and new ashes of war still look pretty fresh new,you have martials arts ,you have perfumes new throwing option for weapons and still not enough for you guys..Main bosses are on pair or better than every from their previous games.. Ambient is phenomenal art design,yes graphics could be better but they are far from bad.Also last time i checked Elden ring shit on God of war without even trying and nothing to do if someone is fan or not is just superior game ,not even same universe.

As a soul's veteran, I've played every.One i've beaten everyone probably five hundred hours and each of them. For me with no summons and ashes this was the hardest. Mesmer 30 tries romana 20.. Radan I'm at 30 tries now stuck on radan great boss

Hard Disagree on story, I read the item descriptions of everything and there is a VERY explicit story happening with Miquella and the main game. Also I've read all of George RR Martin's books and the DNA of his storytelling is everywhere. At the very least, the story never gets in our way and we're not subjected to hours of wasted dev time and our time on awful cutscenes and dialogue where character talk at each other like a bad cartoon.

I agree with you about the combat beeing the same old formula from dark souls. Only thing is there is now a jump attack. I really hope they make a completely fresh aand new game like they did with Sekiro since they have one of the most talanted people working in From Soft.

1:18 kinda agree. but i'd say: -the fans deffo don't know everything. -a lotta fromsoftware employees don't really know the full picture. -if anyone knows the true or full story, it's probably miyazaki and/ or martin.
